Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the above position tenable in the Operations Division within the Fleet Workshops Department.

The Job

Reporting to the Workshop Foreman, the incumbent will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out fabrication and welding repairs on all motorized and non-motorized RSSC fleet and agricultural equipment.
  • Carrying out corrective maintenance (Welding and alignment).
  • Carrying out fabrication and welding modification of components. . Assisting in mentoring and development of Apprentices and other semi-skilled employees.
  • Upholding and contributing to alt SHEQ initiatives.
  • Carrying out stand-by duties.

The Candidate must have:

  • 0′ level certificate or equivalent .
  • N4 or equivalent technical college qualification from an RSSC recognized institution.
  • Successfully completed apprenticeship in Boiler making.
  • At least one (1) year post apprenticeship experience in Boiler making / welding.
  • Light duty driver’s license.
