Job Description

The Komati Basin Water Authority (KOBWA) is a bi-national River Basin Authority established under a Treaty between the Republic of South Africa and the Kingdom of Eswatini, to develop and manage water resources in the Komati sub catchment.

KOBWA operates from its Head Office at Maguga Dam near Pigg’s Peak in Eswatini and has a Water Management office at Driekoppies Dam near Schoemansdal in South Africa.

KOBWA is seeking to recruit suitably qualified, skilled and experienced candidates to fill the below mentioned positions. All the technical positions are based at Driekoppies Dam (South Africa) and the Communication Officer is based at Maguga Dam (Eswatini). All positions entail extensive travel in both countries.

INTEGRATED WATER RESOURCES MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Requirements: A minimum relevant and recognized Bachelor’s Degree in; Civil Engineering (Water Resources), Hydrology or Hydraulics. At least three years post qualification experience. Knowledge of Water Resources Modeling; Project Management; A valid driver’s license.

INFRASTRUCTURE MAINTENANCE ENGINEER/ TECHNOLOGIST

Requirements: A minimum relevant and recognized Bachelor’s Degree in; Civil Engineering, or Hydraulics or related water resources field. At least three years relevant post qualification experience. Knowledge of Dam Safety guidelines; Project Management; A valid driver’s license.

SYSTEM TECHNICIAN (WATER RESOURCES)

Requirements: A minimum relevant and recognized Bachelor’s Degree in; Civil Engineering (Water Resources), Hydrology or Hydraulics. At least three years post qualification experience. Knowledge of Water Resources Modeling; Project Management; A valid driver’s license

COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER

Requirements: Degree in Communications or equivalent. At least three (3) years experience in a similar position responsibility. Project Management. Diverse Communication Skills. A valid driver’s license. Added advantage: Masters degree in Communication.
