Duration of Services: 12 months renewable annual contract based on performance.
Main Purpose The Kingdom of Eswatini is faced with a high rate of cervical cancer cases and proper holistic management is needed in the prevention, Treatment and continuous management of the disease. It is the one of the main caused of mortality among HIV positive women and a need to make sure that comprehensive program is developed in the country cannot be over emphasized.
The Cervical Cancer Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, implementation, documenting, monitoring and evaluation of the cervical cancer activities in the country. The position is a key position responsible for the day to day running of the Cervical Cancer program. In coordination with the all relevant stakeholders in the Health Sector the Coordinator manages the VIA sites, optimizes quality assurance, professional education and training to the VIA service providers.
Specific duties and functions:
Planning and coordination of Cervical Cancer programs
To oversee effective implementation of Cervical Cancer Program
Provide leadership and strategic support to the RH MTs on Cervical Cancer services
Work closely with other relevant ministries, the implementing partners and other key stakeholders to support implementation of the program.
Strengthen existing health systems to support implementation of Cervical Cancer in the Health Sector at all Health levels.
Collaborates and engages stakeholders on Cervical Cancer activities
Assist each region to prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports related to Cervical Cancer
Provide support, training and alignment of regional Cervical Cancer at Health Facilities on Care, treatment and prevention guidelines.
Provide guidance to the Ministry of Health in identifying areas for research in cervical cancer field
Participate actively in TWG meetings and forums addressing Cervical Cancer in the Country.
Prepare budgets, and work plans, pertaining to cervical cancer program.
Monitoring and evaluation of Cervical Cancer activities in the Country.
Qualification and Requirements
Medical Degree and Master’s Degree in Public Health or any other relevant Health degree
PhD in Health Sciences will be an added advantage
5 years’ experience in Cervical Cancer services or HIV treatment and care
Competence in Public Health issues related to Cervical Cancer
Program Management experience and knowledge on Public Health policy
A strong team player with an ability to communicate technical health issues
Demonstrated ability to lead and excellent supervisory skills
Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills
Ability to provide factual and scientific guidance to other professionals and service providers
Experience working with diverse groups.
Good computer skills such as MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
