Bachelor of Social Sciences (Sociology, Anthropology, Gender Studies, etc.) or related discipline.
A Post Graduate Qualification will be an added advantage.
A minimum of 7 years relevant experience in managing complex teams and/or projects; conducting sociology-economic surveys; social assessments; public consultations and participation process; resettlement and compensation issues and other social development issues; GBV or gender issues.

MAIN FUNCTION OF THE JOB:
To manage all social development aspects of EEC Projects and to ensure highest standard of quality in social impact assessment and mitigation activities, stakeholder engagement, project outreach, grievance management and resettlement and compensation issues.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Oversee the management of all social programs under the Project, in coordination with relevant EEC staff and consultants.
Support staff and consultants with the identification of stakeholders, sources of baseline data and documentation relevant to the Project;
Ensure that technical proposals, contracts and implementation conform to the national and World Bank social standards and guidelines;
Review all social assessments to ascertain quality of the product and the accuracy of data and presented facts;
Provide intensive support to Consultants involved in resettlement studies or preparation of Resettlement Action Plans, ESMPs, Labour Management Plans, and Stakeholder Engagement Plans.
Ensure that stakeholder meetings and consultations in project areas are organized to enhance project acceptability;
Review draft resettlement action plans, Labour Management Plans, environmental and social management plans and other relevant instruments to ascertain quality of the product and the accuracy of data and presented facts;
Work closely with the EEC environmental officer to oversee social aspects of the Environment and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) as well as the site specific Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs) to ensure that adequate procedures are in place and proposed mitigation measures are implemented;
Supervise land acquisition and involuntary resettlement activities in projects under implementation
