Job Description

AHF Swaziland is currently seeking to fill the following positions

NURSING ASSISTANT
Job Reference: (AHF07/02)
Responsibilities The duties of the Nursing Assistant shall


include but not limited to:

• Assists and communicates with medical staff concerning patient care issues (e.g., confirm sample to be taken, patient incidents). • Assesses and triages patients as necessary. • Receives, checks and files results and follows up with relevant laboratory for results not received. • Maintains compliance with the Swaziland Nursing Council, and other regulatory agencies, statutes and standards. • Provides education to patient and patient's personal support system in areas such as disease management, adherence safe sex, etc. • Performs procedures as instructed e.g. gives injections, puts up IV infusions changes dressings, phlebotomy etc.


Qualifications and Experience

• Nursing Assistant Certificate/Diploma from an accredited institution is a pre-requisite. • Registration with the Swaziland Nursing Council as a Nursing Assistant • Basic IMAI(HIV) certification an added advantage • At least 2 years experience in a medical environment is preferred.
