Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Branch Controller at the Swaziland Building Society's Nhiangano Branch. This position reports to the Branch Controller.


To effectively control and manage branch operations, ensure compliance with all laws, regulatory requirements. policies, processes, and procedures; as well as to provide excellent customer service and monitor the satisfaction levels of customers, leading to growth of the business of the branch.


✓ Grow all types of loans and deposits by clients to meet targets for the Branch.

✓ Manage attendance, staff leave roster and punctuality of staff to ensure appropriate Branch operations.

✓ Increase the revenue collection for the Branch by ensuring that all fees and commission are correctly collected.

✓ Monitor /manage Branch cash movements/hold-ings.

✓ Promote cross selling of Society's products.


 ✓ Monitor compliance to laws, regulatory requirements, processes, procedures and policies in the Branch

✓ Compile the risk register for the Branch and review on a regular basis

✓ Undertake planned Business Continuity process-es.

• Ensure that Branch audit, security and cash management requirements are adhered to. ✓ Ensure that the Branch Operations Compendium is updated. • Assist Branch develop a marketing plan.


 ✓Ensure consistent delivery of high quality service in the Branch to meet or exceed customer expectations.

 ✓Call on current and prospective Customers to promote services and products.

 ✓Ensure staff adhere to Building Society's Custom-er Service Standards.

 ✓Provide the required support to all campaigns and other marketing initiatives.

 ✓Ensure appropriate communication of information applicable to staff members.


✓ Ensure that appropriate discipline is maintained by staff in the Branch

✓ Ensure the implementation of the performance management system to all staff in the Branch.

✓ Ensure appropriate training and development of staff.

Educational/Professional Requirements:

✓ Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting or equivalent business related qualification. 

✓At least 5 years relevant experience in banking environment.
