Lubane Savings 7 Credit Co-operative Society, invites applications from qualified candidates for the position of Accountant which reports to the SACCO Manager. The incumbent will be expected to have an understanding of the Savings and Co-operative Society history, philosophy, organisation, By-Laws and operational procedures.
The responsibilities of the incumbent will include:
Provide financial services of the Society to Members.
Prepare Financial Accounts for Management reporting with recommendations.
Prepare Financial Accounts for external audits. work hand in hand with the supervisory committee and external auditors.
Prepare tax and FSRA compliancy reports.
Prepare Annual Budget, update monthly budgetary reports and recommend to Management.
Calculate, Monitor and Recommend monthly on PEARLS ratios.
Reconcile monthly all Society's accounts including the investments accounts.
Ensure all Society's invoices are paid timely.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Manager.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications and qualities:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or Equivalent.
At least 3 years' experience in Accounting.
Highly organized, deadline and results driven.
Proficient in MS Office Suite.
Ability to work under minimal supervision, pressure and during odd hours.
Knowledge of Accounting Standards and SACCO principles will be an added advantage.
