CLAIMS MANAGER The purpose of the job: The Claims Manager will be responsible for managing the claims department this includes the timely and proper disposition of claims in accordance wthe the coverage amount. To oversee claims for personal property or casualty loss based on coverage appraisal or verification of damage. Ensure complete and sound claim settlements, legal review and investigation. Effecting treaty and facultative re-insurance claims recoveries. Pursuing third party recoveries Strategic Objectives: • Claims processing management and supervi-sion • Review and audit claims reports • Check and verifies all claims received by the department before they are registered and keeps a regular check on oustanding reserve. • Supervises and handles claims processing including establishment and maintenance of adequate reserves and claims settlements. • Detects fraud and manages fraudulent indicators • Approves claims within delegated authority after verification of all documentation and validation under the policy. Educational Requirements: • Degree in Insurance or AIISA or ACII • Law degree is an added advantage • 5 years experience in the short term insurance industry with a sound knowledge of short term insurance products will be an added advantage • Program in Short Term Insurance   DEVELOPMENT OFFICE The purpose of the job: The Marketing Business Development Officer will be responsible for generating new business from the Broker Sector and public, meeting production targets by introducing the company's product range to existing and new producers. This will also involve training producers in the companies product range and driving ongoing sales and identifying new opportunities for growth. Strategic Objectives: • Brand/Image Management • Establishing and building new relationships with existing and potential producers that have prospective business that meets the companies undewriting criteria. • Maintaining existing relationships in order to proctect existing books of business (Client Relationship Management) • Co-ordinate any marketing campaigns to prospects • Conduct Broker training and presentation • Provide feedback to the Undewriting department to ensure quality service and underwriting standards are maintained. • Assist Brokers with product and business queries • Product Development and Promotion a Public Relations Management • Monitor sales and ensure that they are in line with set targets • Identifies, develops and maintain new products and services in line with customer needs.
