SOS Children’s Villages is an International Child Development non-profit organization that provides care for children at risk of losing, as well as those who have lost parental care. The Member Association of Swaziland is currently serving at least 3500 children and this is done through two methods; Family Based Care, as well as Family Strengthening. The association is currently functioning in the four national regions and aims to expand its coverage in order to meet the needs of more children. Applicants are invited for the following vacancy in the National Office (Manzini), SOS Children’s Villages Swaziland: NATIONAL OFFICE CARETAKER & DRIVER The ideal candidate will be hired on a three (3) year contract (renewable), Qualification requirements are as follows: POSITION SUMMARY The National Office Caretaker & Driver is responsible for the maintenance and development of the National Office grounds. The Caretaker is also responsible for the maintenance and refurbishment of the office building, appliances and garden tools. Furthermore, s/he works with all administrative staff to ensure that office goods are collected from relevant stakeholders and delivered to the office, or that goods from the National Office are delivered to relevant stakeholders. Lastly, s/he ensures the maintenance and proper authorization and use of National Office vehicles. Education and Work experience Minimum qualifications; Form 5 certificate, as well as Vocational Training in Plumbing and Electrical work Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance work Minimum 5 years’ experience as a driver Competencies Fluent in both English and siSwati (written and spoken) Able to work under minimum supervision Very basic computer skills required Good driving practices (must have a valid driver’s licence, not less than 5 years old) Personal Attributes: Respectful of people from different backgrounds Able to maintain confidential information Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with others Communicates effectively Pays attention to detail Ability to manage own time Trustworthy Conduct themselves appropriately when with and around children SOS Children’s Villages offers a competitive package, including a 13th Cheque and 50% medical aid cover.
