Job Summary: Reporting to the General Manager the Farm Manager is responsible for managing the planting of sugar cane and vegetables and ensures that the operations run smoothly from the planting to the harvest stage. Duties and Responsibilities: Manage field operations, instructing supervisors (assigning of tasks, daily activities, and planning). Prepare the annual operational budget of the farm. Ensure the recruitment of employees, overseeing production, supervisors and t he quality control of sugar cane and vegetables. Attend to irrigation scheduling of crops and main canal maintenance. Responsible to initiate purchase requisitions for seed, fertilizer, chemicals, fuel, and workshop spares and vehicle maintenance and/or servicing. Monitor the entire process of the cultivation of crops. Assign tractor & machinery driver tasks as required. Manage maintenance and repair of farm ·equipment and ensure that work progresses satisfactorily. Ensuring compliance with Government regulations (agricultural, transport, environmental etc) and employee health and safety standards. Ensure that staff receives the necessary training for effective production. Ensure that the capture of monthly wage book and update field, irrigation, harvesting, builders and workshop staffs to Canepro on a daily basis. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Attributes: A University Degree in Agriculture. 10 years work experience in an agricultural environment with 5 years' experience at management level. Experience working in a Sugar Cane production is a must. Strong business acumen and good communication skills. Analytical and problem solving skills.
